Overview
The Jomolhari Trek is one of Bhutan’s most iconic and rewarding long-distance treks, extending beyond the popular Jomolhari Loop. With dramatic altitude variations ranging from 2,500m to nearly 5,000m, this trek showcases an extraordinary diversity of landscapes, flora, and wildlife within the pristine Himalayas.
The highlight of the journey is the unforgettable view of Mount Jomolhari (7,314m) from Jomolhari Base Camp at Jangothang, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful campsites in the Himalayan region. Along the route, trekkers pass through deep river valleys, alpine meadows, high mountain passes, yak herder settlements, and ancient dzong ruins, all within the protected landscapes of Jigme Dorji National Park.
This trek also offers excellent acclimatization opportunities, breathtaking views of Jichu Drake, and chances to spot rare Himalayan wildlife such as blue sheep. The Jomolhari Trek is ideal for trekkers seeking a challenging yet culturally rich Himalayan adventure.
