Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Paro – Transfer to Thimphu

Arrive in Paro on a spectacular Himalayan flight. Drive to Thimphu via Chuzom, the confluence of Paro and Thimphu rivers. Visit Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang), explore Thimphu city centre and the Local Crafts Bazaar, and enjoy an evening drive through illuminated Thimphu Valley.

Day 02: Thimphu Sightseeing

Explore Thimphu’s cultural highlights including the National Library, Painting School (Zorig Chusum), Textile Museum, Simply Bhutan, Sangaygang Viewpoint, Takin Reserve, Changangkha Monastery, Memorial Chorten, and Tashichho Dzong.

Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 03: Thimphu – Punakha – Wangduephodrang

Drive across the scenic Dochula Pass (3,088m) with panoramic Himalayan views and visit the Druk Wangyal Chortens. Explore the Royal Botanical Park, visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, and hike to the fertility temple Chimi Lhakhang. Evening walk through Wangdue town and local market.

Overnight in Punakha/Wangdue.

Day 04: Punakha – Paro

Visit Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Lhakhang Nunnery overlooking Punakha Valley. Drive back to Paro, stopping at Simtokha Dzong. In Paro, visit the National Museum (Ta Dzong) and Rinpung Dzong, followed by a stroll through Paro town.

Day 05: Paro Sightseeing

Hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang). Later visit Drukgyel Dzong, a traditional Bhutanese farmhouse, and the sacred Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples.

Day 06: Depart Paro

After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward journey.
