Detailed Itinerary
Arrive at Paro International Airport on one of the world’s most scenic Himalayan flights. After immigration, meet your guide and drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city. En route, stop at Chuzom, the confluence of the Paro and Thimphu rivers, featuring Bhutanese, Tibetan, and Nepalese stupas. Visit the historic Tschogang Lhakhang before continuing to Thimphu.
In the evening, explore Thimphu city, visit the Local Crafts Bazaar, and tour the impressive Tashichho Dzong.
Overnight in Thimphu (2,320m).
After breakfast, explore Thimphu’s cultural attractions, including the National Library, Institute for Zorig Chusum (Painting School), Textile Museum, and Simply Bhutan Living Museum. Visit Changangkha Lhakhang, Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang), and the Memorial Chorten.
Later, drive to Paro via scenic river valleys, stopping at Simtokha Dzong if time permits.
Overnight in Paro (2,280m).
Hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang), perched dramatically on a cliff above the Paro Valley. In the afternoon, visit the National Museum (Ta Dzong) and the historic Rinpung Dzong. Enjoy a relaxed walk through Paro town and local markets.
